Are you a seller or buyer frustrated by eBay? On July 19th eBay rolled out a series of draconian fee hikes for its store sellers. This is raising the cost of selling on eBay by more than 100% for many and destroying the livelihoods of many families who looked to eBay as an important source income, or possibly their entire income. This is on top of the fee hikes that were already hurting many sellers in February of 2005. Sellers who protest these fee hikes have had their posts on the message boards and protest auctions removed or censored.
PSU was “born” in February 2005 when Ebay implemented rate increases that significantly impacted large and small sellers. The fee hikes affect buyers also, as most sellers have no choice but pass on fees to buyers. Our focus has now shifted away from the eBay boycott in early 2005 to helping sellers, and buyers, find the best alternative auction site(s) for their needs.
